Mineral Palace opened in March 1993.  It is on the location of what was once known as the Gem Theatre.  The Gem Theatre was not a theatre at all, it was a brothel run by Deadwood legend Al Swearengen.  The Mineral Palace offers a restaurant, hotel and casino.

Mineral Palace Hotel

The hotel offers 75 rooms for their guests to choose.  There is a double queen, standard king, king suite, Royal Suite and VIP suite.  The double queen starts at $109 off peak up to $169 during the summer.  The VIP Suite and Royal Suite have in room Jacuzzis.  These suites start at $229 off season and run up to $389 during the peak season.

Gem Steakhouse

The Gem Steakhouse offers a variety of steak, buffalo, burgers and salads.  A garnish tray with a variety of olives and other garnish is served before the meal.  The service is intentionally at a slower pace, to help enjoy the environment and the great meal.  A full bar is also offered.

Table Games

Mineral Palace offers blackjack and Three Card Poker.  There are two Three Card Poker games, two six deck blackjack games and two double deck blackjack games.  In the six deck game, players can double after the split, double anything and split up to four hands.  In the double deck game, players can double anything, split up to four hands but cannot double after the split.  In both games the dealer hits soft 17.  Three Card Poker allows $2-$25 bets.  Double Deck Blackjack has a $5-$1000 bet limit, while the Six Deck Blackjack game has a betting range of $2-$1000.

Mineral Palace Video Poker

Mineral Palace ranks among the worst video poker in Deadwood.  The best video poker game is 6/5 Double Double Bonus Poker Plus (95.1%).  Other video poker offered include 6/5 Jacks or Better (95%), 10/8/5 Bonus Poker (94.18%), 7/5 Double Bonus (93.1%), 6/5 Double Double Bonus (94.65%), 15/10 Deuces Wild (94.82%), 6/5 Joker Poker (94.27%), 6/5 Triple Double Bonus (93.86%), 7/5 Blackjack Poker (94.9%), One Eyed Jacks (94.9%), 9/6/5 Shockwave Poker (93.2%) and Wild 7’s (94.85%).  The denominations are penny, nickel, quarter, half dollar and dollar.  The pay tables are the same on all games for all denominations.
